4G Didactic Pills
The project is based on the Communication from the Commission to the European Parliament, the Council, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions entitled „Tackling early school leaving: A key contribution to the Europe 2020 Agenda“.
The project aims to produce short multimedia contents which we have called „Didactic Pills“ (to be used with PC/Mac, tablet or smartphone) addressing the „life competences“ (LIFE SKILLS) whose importance has been underlined by many European documents.
The Didactic Pills present problematic stories and different options for dealing with them. The Didactic Pills aim to stimulate students to reflect and to encourage discussion among peers and with teachers in order to make students better understand the importance of acquiring life skills.
The „Didactic Pills“ will be tested in schools in the partner countries in order to develop „life skills“ as part of an overall objective to reduce early school leaving, with particular regard to SEN. In this sense the use of multimedia tools is a facilitator for learning in general.
At methodological level there are two central elements of this project:
life skills, understood as competences to be enhanced in order to improve the relationship with oneself and therefore also with learning and schools
technology as an enabling factor for learning, including distance learning, and as a factor that reduces the distance between students with and without special needs.
Both these elements favour the improvement of school performance and the permanence of students with SEN (but, more generally, of all students) at school.
